October 4, 2021, will go down in history as the day Facebook and Instagram were down and no one knew where to scroll.

Social Media Managers scrambled as their story views were null and void. New parents panicked looking for a place to post baby photos. But most importantly—folks were glued to their phones, just waiting for their social media world to open back up again.

While the world stood fixed to their screens, our Postscript customers got creative. Here are some of our favorite SMS campaigns that went out.

Beauty Bar Chocolate knows that chocolate makes everything better, even in a world without Instagram.

Outer Aisle gave a shout-out to the OG Social Media guy (Tom from MySpace) with this tongue-in-cheek promo.

Your Super takes advantage of the unplanned social media cleanse and suggests a full detox in the meantime.

Tees Hair Secret pushed out a deep discount for a limited amount of orders, creating urgency for customers to click.

Shane Justin Collection used this opportunity to get people to shop rather than scroll.

Violet Snow Custom Fabric came through with free shipping and our favorite meme of the day.

Girl Tribe Co. knows their customers spend a lot of time scrolling and commiserates alongside them.

Three Ships uses the social media timeout to have a candid conversation with customers, using it as a branding moment rather than a sales push.

We’re always on the hunt for creative SMS campaigns. Be sure to submit yours to Fantastic Texts.
